Originally conceived by King Ludwig I, Bayerischer Hof is one of Munich´s most legendary, historic, contemporary hotels and yet has an easy elegance. The iconic Blue Spa terrace, created by Andrée Putman, offers barbecues in the summer and a unique ice bar in the winter with splendid views across Munich. The two-Michelin-starred restaurant Atelier was created by interior designer Axel Vervoordt, who also devised the Cinema Lounge, the South and North Wings, and the unique 3,700-square-foot Penthouse Garden Suite, which encompasses the eighth floor. Next public transport stop: Theatiner Straße. From the airport: Take the S-Bahn lines S1 or S8. After about 40 minutes you will reach the Marienplatz stop. Leave the train here and use the "Weinstrasse" exit from the station. Follow Weinstrasse until you reach Maffeistrasse, where you will also see the tram tracks running along the street. Now follow the tracks to the left, until they take you to the main entrance to the Bayerischer Hof. From the main train station (Hauptbahnhof München): You can take any of the S-Bahn lines, heading towards Ostbahnhof, getting out after about 5 minutes at the Marienplatz station. Leave the train here and use the "Weinstrasse" exit from the station. Follow Weinstrasse until you reach Maffeistrasse, where you will also see the tram tracks running along the street. Now follow the tracks to the left, until they take you to the main entrance to the Bayerischer Hof.
