Explore the Underwater World

For over a decade, the adventure aquarium in Munich's Olympiapark has offered captivating insights into the diverse and fascinating underwater world.

Spanning 2,200 square meters over two levels, Sea Life München in the Olympiapark (Olympic Park) is home to Germany's largest collection of sharks with 20 different species, including blacktip reef sharks and zebra sharks. The aquarium holds a total of 700,000 litres of water, with the impressive ocean tank alone containing 400,000 litres.

In the Donaudelta (Danube Delta), visitors can learn exciting facts about carp, catfish, sturgeon and other fish species. The Isar River section highlights aquatic life native to Munich's own river and is a must-see.

A specially designed Quallenbereich (Jellyfish Area) allows visitors an up-close encounter with these mesmerizing creatures. Native species like the moon jellyfish from the Baltic Sea can be admired alongside exotic varieties. The Korallenhöhle (Coral Cave) features the blue-banded surgeonfish and Ocellaris clownfish and more.

In the Mittelmeerhafen (Mediterranean Harbour), visitors can observe vari-ous ray and shark species. The Schiffswrack (Ship Wreck) is home to deep-sea dwellers, such as the common octopus and the honeycomb moray, whose pattern resembles that of a leopard. Octopodes, known for their incredible flex-ibility, can squeeze into the tiniest crevices thanks to their boneless bodies.

The Tropischer Ozean (Tropical Ocean), invites visitors to explore the un-derwater world through a large panoramic window and a glass tunnel, bringing them face-to-face with sharks – a highlight of any visit. On the Tropeninsel (Tropical Island), earthbound species like giant snails and stick insects wait to be discovered.

After your adventure, relax with a cup of coffee or browse the souvenir shop.
