The Munich Convention Bureau remains true its communications strategy, which was successfully launched last year. The focus continues to be on intensive, partnership-based exchange with Tourismus Initiative München e.V. (TIM e.V.) and all partners of the City of Munich. In addition, the convention bureau is looking forward to reinforcements in its highly qualified team.
At the end of January, the Munich Convention Bureau in the Department of Labour and Economic Development presented the continuation of the #simplymunich - #simplyyourpartner campaign, which was successfully launched last year to all Munich partners during a digital kick-off event.
At the heart of the campaign, this year is based on six pillars: Reunion (#simplyreunite), internationality (#simplyinternational), sustainability (#simplygreen), sporting activity in any form (#simplyactive), success concepts (#simplysuccessful), and uniqueness (#simplyunique). The #simplyunforeseeable phase from last year will remain in place in 2022 so that unforeseen events can be responded to flexibly in terms of communication.
The chosen hashtags that will accompany the campaign throughout the year are based on the learned hashtag of the Munich Convention Bureau #simplymunich. "The entire brand communication, as well as image building and community management in the social media channels of the congress office with a focus on MICE, will thus be successively strengthened," says Benedikt Brandmeier, Head of the Tourism, Events and Hospitality Division in the Department of Labour and Economic Development.
In 2022, the aim is to demonstrate the advantages and attractiveness of the MICE-city Munich to national and international event planners, associations, agencies, companies as well as all other service providers through the PR and communication measures, which are in the area of tension between tradition and innovation. Clemens Baumgärtner, Head of Department of Labour and Economic Development of the city of Munich, emphasizes:
"The strategy involves all partners of the Munich Convention Bureau and continuously offers numerous opportunities for active participation. The intensive, partnership-based exchange with Tourismus Initiative e.V. continues to be a priority."
The main goal is to "boost" the event industry in 2022 in cooperation with TIM e.V.. "Regarding this, the focus will be on creating platforms for the Munich MICE industry concerning sales, acquisition, customer loyalty, and image enhancement, as well as for the leading trade fairs, including IMEX Frankfurt, ibtm World and IMEX Las Vegas. The ProfTreff will also be organized in cooperation with the Munich Congress Alliance to network Munich's scientific community," states Benedikt Brandmeier, Head of the Tourism, Events and Hospitality Division in the Department of Labour and Economic Development.
Martina Bürger is back from parental leave with immediate effect and, as Marketing Manager, is mainly in charge of the partnerships with Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München and TU München as well as the preparation of the annual ProfTreff.
Janine David-Steinhart continues as Deputy Head of the Munich Convention Bureau under Jörg Bauler. Furthermore, she is responsible for the "Congresses" area, the support of key account customers, and the strategic PR orientation. Wiebke Heerbeck is also responsible for the "Incentives" area in 2022 and manages the PR activities of the convention bureau. Sigrid Smuda-Fröschl is the right contact person regarding the partner management and the trade-fair organization of the Munich Convention Bureau.
