More than 80 scientists from Munich universities, institutes and research institutions were invited by the Munich Convention Bureau and the Munich Congress Alliance to the ProfTreff 2019 – in 2019 for the first time in cooperation with the LMU.
The focus at this year's ProfTreff on December 10th was the exchange of knowledge: Academics from Munich’s universities talked about the organisation and performance of their congresses in Munich in three “Best Practice” presentations.
Prof. Carsten Schmidt-Weber spoke about the "European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology Congress EAACI 2018", Dr. Denise Reitzenstein talked about the 'Historikertag' history conference 2020, Prof. Michael Zäh illustrated the “5th International Conference on Changeable, Agile, Reconfigurable and Virtual Production CARV 2013”. They highlighted the close cooperation with the Convention Bureau within the City of Munich Department of Labor and Economic Development (RAW), the Munich Congress Alliance (MCA) as well as with the LMU Congress Center.
"Science is the driving force behind the economic success of our city. Additionally, Munich as a conference destination has a lot to offer when it comes to presenting and discussing academic output. This is the perfect combination to win important congresses for Munich."
In their international associations and committees, the professors promote Munich as a conference and congress destination. All the participants share a common goal of attracting events to Munich.
