The Munich Convention Bureau is participating in the current communication campaign of the GCB German Convention Bureau e. V. Since personal contacts and marketing opportunities at international trade fairs and events are still severely limited, at least for the time being, the campaign is based on expanded hybrid marketing formats. The aim is above all to provide information about the comprehensive range of services available in Munich and to maintain a dialog with customers.
The hybrid campaign "Germany - at the heart of future events" will start with a kick-off session on June 1, 2021 and the live launch of the virtual presentation of the participating partners, including the City of Munich, in the GCB Virtual Venue. The diverse activities, which will start in June 2021 and run until September 30, include four building blocks: Virtual Market Place, Innovation, Live Experience and Education.
The Munich Convention Bureau will be represented in a virtual meeting room in a 360° environment from June 1, 2021 to September 30, 2021. The room creates a great atmosphere to meet with customers and partners of the Congress Bureau for sales calls and web seminars. The meeting room, which is individually branded for Munich, is easy to find via the search function, prominent placement, and direct linking in the navigation menu. In addition, the Munich Convention Bureau organizes a virtual 360° exhibition hall in which eight partners manage an exhibition booth: Messe München, Bayerischer Hof, Eurokongress, Holiday Inn, Paulaner Nockherberg, Platzl Hotels Munich, Marriott and Interplan.
One focus of the GCB campaign is on innovation. The way people meet at meetings, conferences and conventions is changing - both online and offline. What is needed, therefore, are fast, networked and, above all, customer-oriented solutions which, most of the time, don’t get developed single-handedly anymore. As part of the campaign, the Munich Convention Bureau is participating in the Response Room open innovation platform, offering the opportunity for systematic co-creation and development of new ideas and concepts. In the Response Room, all stakeholders are invited to work together on challenges and problems and to share their ideas, knowledge, and experience with other community members.
Another focus of the GCB campaign is on the topic of Live Experience, because assuming that business travel within Germany or from the DACH region will again be possible on a larger scale in summer 2021, it is important to put the spotlight on various destinations. The Munich Convention Bureau is realizing this goal by participating in the "Destination in Motion," who will visit the state capital of Munich on June 8 and broadcast content live via the GCB's social media channels (Twitter and Instagram). Under the motto "Tradition meets Innovation", the Destination in Motion will be on the road all day in the MICE metropolis and will be accompanied by a professional camera team. A wrap-up video of the Destination in Motion will also be available afterwards in the GCB Virtual Venue.
From July to September, Discovery Tours (Educational Trips) with planners from the DACH region will take place over a period of several weeks. This is the perfect opportunity for the Munich Convention Bureau and its partners to promote Munich as a destination during a two-day program and to invite planners to resume personal contact and exchange. The Fam Trip will take place from 26th to 27th August 2021 or from 2nd to 3rd September 2021. In parallel, a collaborative workshop on event innovation will be held in the "Rolling Response Room".
Coinciding with the other actions, the "greenmeetings and events conference" (gme) will offer interactive sessions on sustainable topics related to the event industry on three digital event days on July 28, September 14 and October 28, 2021. Here, too, valuable links to the GCB Virtual Venue will be created: Participants of the gme are invited to visit the exhibition of the partners in the Virtual Venue.
