Out of the city, into the countryside! After months of curfews and travel restrictions, we long for holidays and travel. The trend in the months after the lockdown will be towards holidays in Germany and short-term weekend trips. The Alpine foothills are a popular destination for Germans and only a few minutes' drive from the Bavarian capital.
The Starnberger Fünf-Seen-Land is not only a popular weekend destination for Munich residents, but also one of the most beautiful holiday regions in Germany. Lakes, views of the Alps and a wide range of leisure activities attract visitors from all over Germany. In a picturesque location not far from Lake Starnberg lies the event and conference hotel Vier Jahreszeiten Starnberg, which is one of the top hotels in the region. Opened in 2006, the 4-star superior hotel has 122 rooms and suites and warmly welcomes both tourists and MICE guests.
The hotel's location within walking distance of the shores of Lake Starnberg allows guests to enjoy the lake in the fresh air at any time - and at the same time offers a variety of opportunities for teambuilding activities as part of business events. Whether in the water or on the shore - Lake Starnberg has something to offer for all guests: Hikes in the Starnberger Fünf-See-Land, e-bike and e-scooter tours along the lakeshore, sailing excursions, canoeing courses, stand-up paddling and even stand-up yoga are offered by the hotel itself or in the nearby surroundings. Those who prefer a more relaxed approach can enjoy the scenery on a VW Beetle ride around the lake, learn to build a raft or take a yacht tour of the lake. There are also a variety of golf courses around the hotel, inviting you to play a game of golf with a view of the lake, the Alps, the Isar valley or the Zugspitze.
Back at the hotel, a culinary evening programme of a special kind awaits the guests. The Hemingway Bar with the largest rum collection in southern Germany and the gourmet restaurant Aubergine, awarded with a Michelin star, are just two of the culinary highlights that the Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten Starnberg has to offer. The Hemingway Bar is furnished in English style, with a fireplace, black leather armchairs and chandeliers, is suitable for a relaxed get-together and also offers cocktail courses.
The gourmet restaurant Aubergine received a Michelin star for the first time in 2014 and was able to defend it until today. This makes the hotel's own restaurant the only Michelin star restaurant in the Starnberg district. Recently, the restaurant also received the award of two Gault&Millau bonnets. The chef and his team regularly add selected compositions to the menu. Depending on the season, one product is the focus of the food creations.
A business meeting between the lakeshore and the mountains, followed by SUP yoga with a view of the Alps and a dinner in the star restaurant - what sounds like an ideal dream is reality at the Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten Starnberg. The hotel in Starnberg near Munich is only a few minutes' drive from the Bavarian capital and has a 400m² flexible event area where meetings and events for up to 256 people can take place. With five individually combinable room sections and state-of-the-art conference technology, events of all types and sizes can be implemented at the Vier Jahreszeiten Starnberg - even at Corona times with sufficient distance and with options for holding hybrid events. The hotel has received certifications as a "Certified Conference Hotel" and a "Certified Business Hotel", among others.
The specially developed "Meet Culinary" concept of the Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten Starnberg ensures that individual events and meetings are particularly successful. A personal assistant is on hand to provide advice and assistance during planning and implementation. The concept includes the team-building opportunities already mentioned - sporty or at a cocktail course in the Hemingway Bar - as well as its own culinary concept. "The guest should not notice that we are doing something good for him," is how the star chef of the Aubergine restaurant sums up the concept. On the meeting tables there are nuts and dried fruit instead of industrially produced biscuits, and in the coffee breaks there are smoothies and brain food, for example wholemeal crêpes or homemade muesli bars, freshly prepared at live cooking stations. The guests' well-being and productivity are thus increased and events become a complete success for both the guests and the organiser.
