Authentic offerings in a special city: To market Munich even more attractively as a MICE location for high-quality and sustainable events, Munich Convention Bureau will be working with the editorial collective Nansen & Piccard as its new lead agency.
Munich is not New York, not London, and not Berlin either. The MICE industry has appreciated this for many years. Our goal is to make the Bavarian capital even better known as a place that uniquely combines tangible joie de vivre, cosmopolitanism and authentic encounters. In doing so, we are positioning the city even more clearly as a destination for high-quality, credible and sustainable events.
To this end, Munich Convention Bureau has collaborated with the editorial collective Nansen & Piccard to develop a new communication campaign that tells Munich stories in an approachable, authentic way and thus quite deliberately distinguishes it from other MICE destinations. No frills, no "wannabe": Munich is "simply different".
In the future, Nansen & Piccard will tell Munich stories from and for the MICE industry and position the event location as "simply different" – just like the new slogan. Nansen & Piccard will also use its expertise in the conception and implementation of social media storytelling to strengthen Munich Convention Bureau’s expertise as a MICE expert.
In a next step, the plan is to give the campaign even more depth and expand it to cover international markets. Munich’s unique location near the Alps will also play a special role, as will the city's close ties to nature. As part of the overall content campaign, a special focus will be placed on the sustainability of events in Munich.
Munich Convention Bureau is responsible for marketing Munich as a location for conventions, conferences and events. Nansen & Piccard has its roots in journalism and focuses on real stories and creative implementation in projects. This is one of the reasons why Munich Convention Bureau chose Nansen & Piccard when it was looking for a new lead agency. An additional factor was that Nansen & Piccard has been successfully working for Munich Tourism for many years and has proven locational expertise.
"We are extremely pleased to be now taking just the right next step with Nansen & Piccard and thus being able to further exploit Munich's potential as a congress and event location," explains Benedikt Brandmeier, Munich Convention Bureau’s Head of Tourism, Events, Hospitality, about the new partnership. "Being selected as the lead agency for Munich Convention Bureau makes us proud," says Oliver Stolle, Partner and Managing Director at Nansen & Piccard. "Munich has so much to offer and we're looking forward to inspiring even more people to come to this great city through our work. Our expertise in storytelling will help us realize the Munich Convention Bureau’s vision and strengthen Munich's position as an exceptional location for conventions and events."
