Top news for congress metropolis Munich: From 8 to 11 June 2025, the world congress “2025 ISAKOS Congress” of the “International Society of Arthroscopy, Knee Surgery and Orthopaedic Sports Medicine” will be held at the ICM – International Congress Center Messe München.
Clemens Baumgärtner, Head of the Department of Labor and Economic Development, is thrilled: "The American organiser’s decision in favour of our city as the venue for the “2025 ISAKOS Congress” is a great recognition of the work done by our congress office, Messe München and our partners. In Munich, there is optimal interaction between research, teaching and business. Also, the environment, the venues, the infrastructure and the congress industry helped attract the “2025 ISAKOS Congress”, which will be held in Munich for the first time.
We are particularly proud that Prof. Dr Imhoff will act as the local host for the congress. He is, as so aptly stated in English, "the bee's knees", an absolute expert from the shoulder to the knee and has actively campaigned for the congress to be held in Munich."
Prof. Dr Andreas B. Imhoff (b. 1953) is an internationally renowned specialist at the Technical University of Munich TUM. His research focuses on the cartilage and tissue engineering of tendons and the meniscus and on the biomechanics of the shoulder and knee joint. Imhoff, who retired in spring 2022 from his role at Klinikum rechts der Isar as the hospital’s head of the Department and Polyclinic for Sports Orthopaedics, spent more than a quarter of a century helping not only injured amateur athletes, but also professional sportspeople and other celebrities to get back into shape at the university hospital.
Emphasizing the advantages of the Messe München's venues, Dr. Reinhard Pfeiffer highlights: “We are delighted to welcome the “2025 ISAKOS Congress”. It is an important pillar for the work of the international society and it is therefore essential that the event is held to the highest standards. With a wide variety of different formats and a high level of international participation from around 100 countries, the demands on the location are high. The ICM – International Congress Center Messe München provides optimal conditions for its clients in this regard. Moreover, the Messe München team has years of experience in hosting world-class events, which convinced the guest organizer after a multi-year tendering process.
Additionally, Munich is a leading scientific hub in the field of medicine and has the appropriate infrastructure for this subject area."
After Lyon in 2015, a European metropolis will once again host the “ISAKOS Congress”. Up to 4,000 participants are expected in the Bavarian capital.
