The Berchtesgadener Land with its dreamlike Königssee is a breathtaking backdrop for a day trip. Numerous natural spectacles, impressive mountain peaks, such as the Watzmann and Kehlstein, as well as glittering lakes are waiting to be discovered by you. From Munich, you can take a relaxed bus ride to this impressive region and, in addition to panoramic views on the German Alpine Road, you can also learn about history.
On Obersalzberg, you have the opportunity to visit the Nazi Documentation Center. The eventful history of the place (among other things, Alpine residence of Adolf Hitler in connection with the National Socialist dictatorship) is documented here in a multimedia exhibition. A special bus and tunnel lift will take you to the Kehlsteinhaus, which became world famous as Eagle's Nest.
In case of bad weather, an alternative is to visit the salt mine. It is the oldest active salt mine in Germany.
