Over 100 museums, galleries and special places are open until late every autumn during the Long Night of Munich Museums, showcasing a variety of exhibitions and attractions. Museum fans should make a note of 18 October 2025 in their diaries!
The Long Night of Munich Museums is a great opportunity to get to know the city's large and small museums on a night-time stroll in a unique atmosphere. Shuttle buses will take museum fans to the more than 100 museums, galleries and special venues that have put together a variety of exhibitions, attractions, special programmes, art projects and performances for this unique day of action. The Museum Night 2025 begins on Saturday, 18 October at 6 pm and ends at 1 am.
To ensure that children also get their money's worth, the Long Night starts in the afternoon with its own children's programme. Children's tours, workshops and hands-on activities in various museums are on the programme between 2 pm and 6 pm. The programme for families with children ranges from antiquity and contemporary art to science, technology and Munich's city history.
Tickets for the Long Night of Museums in Munich are available in advance from München Ticket, on the day of the event at Odeonsplatz (square) or from the participating museums. A ticket is valid for one adult accompanied by four children between the ages of four and 14 and entitles the holder to admission to all participating museums and to use the MVG shuttle buses, which take visitors on a total of five routes through the city.
In the autumn of each year, the programme booklet for the Long Night of Munich Museums is also published well in advance of the event, which is available at all advance booking offices and provides detailed information about all the events on offer at the individual museums and institutions. It can also be downloaded online from the organisers' website.
Every year, the Long Night of Museums in Munich attracts up to 31,000 culture-loving participants to the night-lit streets of Munich – and many new guests are expected this year too.
