For over 50 years, the Münchner Theater für Kinder has been staging charming pieces for old and young alike. Curtain up!
From the Räuber Hotzenplotz (Robber Hotzenplotz) and Sleeping Beauty to Pinocchio: in the Münchner Theater für Kinder, professional actors perform pieces for children aged four and up. The programme changes twice a day and consists of up to 14 different productions, including fairytales by the Brothers Grimm, stories by Astrid Lindgren and Janosch, musicals, operas and much more. Founder Heinz Redmann has been managing the theatre for over five decades and has truly poured his heart and soul into it.
In its first few years from 1967 onwards, the Theater für Kinder performed in Leopoldstrasse, but its performances have been held in the listed building on Dachauer Strasse since 1977. Today, it is hard to imagine Munich without the Theater für Kinder: imaginative sets and many years of experience make every performance an experience that even enchants adults. Many people from Munich attended the theatre as children themselves, and now take their own children to see its performances.
