On the outskirts of the city, you will find one of Germany’s top climbing facilities. The Kletter- und Boulderzentrum München-West in Gilching (DAV Climbing and Bouldering Centre Munich West) is a real treat for bouldering fans.
You can let off steam outdoors in Gilching in dry weather on a unique bouldering area with 270 square metres, just recently modernised. State-of-the-art bouldering walls with a height of 4.5 metres, 35 running metres, overhangs and inclined slabs await bouldering enthusiasts.
Indoors, more boulder problems of all difficulty levels are waiting to be cracked on a total of 350 square metres.
The climbing facility’s walls are equipped with all mod cons and cater to a wide array of climbing styles, such as crack climbing, overhangs, roof climbing as well as vertical and sloping routes for all difficulty levels over an area of 1950 m2.
If you need to recharge your batteries in between or after a climb, then the cosy bistro is the ideal place to do so. You can even sit outside and watch the other climbers in action in the bouldering area.
Equipment is available to hire.
