The SAP Garden in Munich's Olympic Park will open at the end of September 2024. The arena will be the home stadium of the successful Munich ice hockey team “EHC Red Bull München“ and the basketball team FC Bayern. But it's not just the professionals who get their money's worth here. With fan stores, a restaurant and spacious ice rinks for amateur sports, the SAP Garden becomes a popular destination.
Four-time German ice hockey champions EHC Red Bull Munich will play all their home games in the new, architecturally interesting building next to the Olympiastadion (Olympic Stadium). The successful basketball team FC Bayern Munich will also play 20 matches per season in the new arena.
There is space for 10,796 spectators for ice hockey matches and up to 11,500 fans for basketball. In addition to ice hockey and basketball, up to 40 other sports and sports-related events are planned, and during the construction of the SAP Garden, great importance was attached to ensuring that all spectators have a perfect view of the pitch. A height-adjustable video cube installed on the hall ceiling with a total projection area of 209 square meters also contributes to an optimal viewing experience.
Even when no major events are taking place, there are many exciting experiences to be had at SAP Garden throughout the year. In addition to a restaurant and numerous kiosks, there are several fan stores and the “Gaming Garden“, the new hotspot in Munich for the gaming community, which can also be booked. SAP Garden also includes three underground ice rinks with a total ice surface area of around 5,400 square meters, where visitors can also skate at certain times for a fee.
