This city tour takes you through Munich's beautiful old town to the shops and businesses of the former Royal Purveyors to the Court. Immerse yourself in a very charming chapter of old Munich history and enjoy the special flair of the city with its traditional shops.
The title "Royal Bavarian Purveyor to the Court" was awarded by the Bavarian kings and Prince Regent Luitpold. Only shops with a cultivated, upscale corporate culture, innovative products and fancy goods were allowed to bear this title.
As a distinguishing feature, the companies adorned themselves with the royal coat of arms, which still adorns some shop entrances today. The success story of many internationally active Munich companies began with the award of the title of Purveyor to the Court – reason enough to dedicate an entertaining guided tour of the city to this exciting topic of Munich's economic history.
During this approx. two-hour tour, you will get to know the city centre with an official guide of the City of Munich and visit shops and companies that are still official court title holders today.
Also interesting: There are still many companies in Munich that were once suppliers to the royal Bavarian court. We have shopped our way through the old town - from porcelain to perfume.
