Local and travelling New Year's Eve enthusiasts will finally meet again in 2025 to celebrate the turn of the year in style. You'll find plenty of like-minded people in Munich, whether you want to see the New Year in with a rousing party or prefer a sporty start to the New Year.
On New Year's Eve, party people are drawn to the Theresienwiese at Tollwood. The winter festival is a tried and tested party venue for the turn of the year! If you want to bring the year 2025 to a special end, celebrate with live music and DJs at the legendary New Year's Eve party. Last year, the Muffatwerk hosted a New Year's Eve party in the café, the Ampere and the Muffathalle. A different DJ played in each area - with everything from hip hop to electro and funk.
Other Munich clubs also invited people to party on New Year's Eve. Whether you preferred to dance to techno and house at Roten Sonne or hip-hop and the latest hits at Sweet - there was something for everyone at Maximiliansplatz. In the 089 Bar, there were seven toasts to the New Year. Backstage also celebrated New Year's Eve in all areas, with long drinks and shots available at discounted prices.
Exclusive parties were organised at P1 and the Pacha Club. The Filmcasino hosted both a glamorous party and a gala dinner with a five-course menu and champagne reception. Other clubs where you could toast the new year on New Year's Eve were the Milchbar or the Neuraum.

The Seehaus in the English Garden offered exclusive menus at the turn of the year, giving guests the opportunity to enjoy a relaxed and culinary start to the new year 2025. Guests were also able to enjoy a delicious New Year's Eve fondue in the Bavarian parlour with its mountain hut flair. They could choose between an excellent three- or six-course menu. Each menu was also available as a vegetarian or vegan option.
In the Augustiner-Keller, guests could enjoy live music in the ballroom, a DJ in the Lagerkeller and excellent food in the New Year's Eve menu or à la carteal a cart.
The Andaz Hotel in Schwabing offered New Year's Eve menus on different floors: In the modern-meat restaurant The Lonely Broccoli on the ground floor and in the M'Uniqo Rooftop Bar on the top floor with a view over the city.
Gasthaus Waltz also organised a New Year's Eve party with an eight-course gourmet menu followed by a party night.
The GOP Varieté-Theater once again offered a matinée and a New Year's Eve gala. The guests experienced both culinary and variety highlights with a four-course menu, alternating with the show ‘Zauberhaft’.
Many other restaurants in Munich also organise a special dinner or a multi-course menu on New Year's Eve, including Restaurant Huber in Bogenhausen, Frau im Mond, Café Reitschule am Englischen Garten, Vinothek The Grapeful, Löwenbräukeller and the rooftop restaurant at Bayerischer Hof.
The Mural Group also hosted various events at the Mural Bar, the Mural Restaurant and the Mural Farmhouse on New Year's Eve.
In the new Bavarian pub Marie Therese on the Theresienwiese and in the Australian Fitzroy, guests met for a six-course menu. New Year's Eve was experienced at star level at the Mountain Hub Gourmet or the Bogenhauser Hof.
The Cuvilliés Theatre in the Residenz invites you to enjoy New Year's Eve in a relaxed atmosphere with a New Year's Eve concert. There were three performances, in the morning, afternoon and evening. A special New Year's Eve concert was also held in the neighbouring Court Chapel of the Residence. On the same day, the Herkulessaal of the Residenz hosted a festive New Year's Eve gala.
The popular Isarphilharmonie in the Gasteig HP8 alternative venue hosted two concerts on 31 December: With Beethoven's 9th Symphony and the ‘Last Night of the Year’, musical fireworks were performed in honour of the New Year. In the Lustspielhaus, the old year ended and the new year began with the cabaret artist Django Asül, who gave a satirical review of the year.
There was also a ban on fireworks within the Mittlerer Ring in Munich in 2024. Despite the reduced number of fireworks in Munich's night sky, many people gathered in various places throughout the city to celebrate and toast the New Year.
On the Schwanthalerhöhe, at the foot of the Bavaria or on the Olympiaberg you could marvel at the fireworks. On the other hand, Munich's romantic souls spent the New Year not in the hustle and bustle of the crowds, but in more secluded places, such as the Monopteros in the English Garden.
There was also a wonderful view of the night sky over Munich from the Friedensengel. This meeting point now has cult status and has become a firm New Year's Eve tradition. You could also toast with a glass of sparkling wine on the numerous bridges over the Isar. There was also plenty of space on the Hackerbrücke to marvel at the fireworks over the city.
The old year ended on a sporty note at the New Year's Eve run in the Olympic Park. Nordic walking enthusiasts were also able to take part in the short distance.
The Munich New Year's run through the English Garden was the sporty and meditative start to the new year.
